NBCC - National Breast Cancer Coalition
The organization's mission is to stop breast cancer through their grassroots efforts to increase research funding, influence policy, and educate activists.
The National Breast Cancer Coalition Fund (NBCCF) is a grassroots advocacy organization committed to ending breast cancer. NBCCF's approach brings together public policy, science, education and advocacy in the fight against breast cancer. NBCCF seeks to improve cancer research, improve access for all women to high-quality health care and clinical trials. They work to accomplish these goals through their advocacy training programs.
Each year, the NBCCF have an advocacy training conference in Washington, D.C. Hundreds of cancer activists from across the U.S. come together to learn about the current information on cancer science, research and public policy. The NBCCF has also established Project LEAD (Leadership, Education and Advocacy Development). It is a unique and intensive science course that helps to train cancer activists to participate as informed consumers. The NBCCF also provides a variety of education and outreach programs to help people to understand the complex issues surrounding this type of cancer research.
The National Breast Cancer Fund's (NBCCF) education and training programs are designed to give advocates the information, tools and skills they need to be effective advocates for everyone facing breast cancer.
